Litigation Management

For clients with a general counsel or in-house corporate counsel, we manage their litigation.  We prepare RFPs, assist the client in retaining outside counsel and manage them on a day-to-day basis.  Retaining outside counsel is one thing, but managing them is another.  Having someone looking out for your interests and regularly monitoring outside counsel can help keep your bills down and lead to a quicker resolution of the matter. 

Predictability and Accountability:  We excel in mapping out a litigation strategy from filing through trial, budgeting the legal spend and ensuring that the budget is adhered to.  For this, we encourage outside counsel to adopt agile processes and provide task-based flat fee quotes.

Insurance: It is risky to rely solely on an insurer to control costs for three reasons: insurers sometimes refuse to cover the defense costs, even after agreeing to accept them at the outset; defense costs can quickly eat up the insurance coverage available for settlement; and the insurers do not get involved in day to day decisions or strategy.  As such, they cannot tell whether a certain issue needs to be researched or which of the 75 proposed deponents really are crucial to the case.
