About Flashpoint

Flashpoint Law, Inc. is a full-service law firm of attorneys with experience from AmLaw 100 law firms.  Flashpoint has been an innovator in the legal industry since its founding and is a minority owned business.  We have offices in Northern and Southern California.

Flashpoint was founded in 2008 by Shirish Gupta, an accomplished attorney/mediator with over a dozen years of legal experience.  Shirish has represented many Fortune 500 companies, including McAfee, Oracle and Google.  A graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and UC Berkeley (with high honors), Shirish brings his experience to Flashpoint’s core clientele: consumers, investors, entrepreneurs and start-ups.

After receiving his law degree in 1999, Shirish began practicing complex civil litigation with Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin, a San Francisco litigation institution.  While there, he also focused on intellectual property and class action.

Shirish moved to AmLaw 100 firm Mayer Brown LLP and expanded his practice to include employment law, securities law, securities litigation, derivative litigation, antitrust law, unfair competition, unfair business practices, electronic discovery and internal investigations.

Flashpoint has a strong commitment to pro bono legal services.  We serve as pro bono counsel to Project Bandaloop, a vertical dance company based in San Francisco.  After three years of pro bono representation, Shirish obtained the release of a 3 Strikes prisoner, whose third strike was stealing a bottle of vitamins (Riggs v. Fairman, 399 F.3d 1179 (9th Cir. 2005)) and resolved insurance coverage issues for an Indian-American family whose home was burned down in a hate crime.

Shirish is a frequent speaker on mediation strategy, diversity, litigation strategy, IP, marketing, law firm management, legal service organization management and using agile processes to manage litigation.
